Florida Institute of Technology Takes Delivery of Liberty XL2

Liberty Aerospace is proud to announce that Florida Institute of Technology’s (F.I.T.) – School of Aeronautics has taken delivery of their first Liberty XL2 aircraft. The aircraft was delivered as the centerpiece of a local Aviation Day, highlighting aerospace education in Brevard County, Florida.

As a sponsor for this event, the Liberty Team has worked to bring the community together by promoting aviation to area youth and adults alike.  The event will feature numerous aircraft static displays, a spot landing competition, seminars and participation from the local National Guard.

Dr. Ken Stackpoole, Dean of Florida Tech’s College of Aeronautics stated, “We welcome Liberty aircraft to our flight line and look forward to working with a fellow airport resident to encourage community participation in aviation and Florida Tech’s flying programs.”

The XL2 will be used for primary and instrument training, and is available for use by both F.I.T. students and the general public. Highlighting advanced design, construction, and avionics, the XL2 marks a new chapter for flight training.

Liberty’s C.E.O., Keith Markley, commented “We are very excited to have this relationship with F.I.T.  As a world renowned flight training institution, their selection to showcase our aircraft is a testament to the XL2’s low cost of operations and modern technology.”
