Melbourne, Fl - Monday July 28th 2008 – Liberty Aerospace Inc. has announced updates to the advanced XL2 Vanguard Edition at the AirVenture airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The updated Vanguard model sports striking new decal designs available in blue, green and burgundy, and additional interior options including a tan or gray scheme, with two seat fabric choices in each color family.
The Vanguard Edition XL2 is the latest model of the highly acclaimed FADEC equipped two seat training and touring aircraft, and offers a Gross Weight Increase (GWI) to 1,750 pounds, toe-brakes, WAAS enabled Garmin GPS, Jeppesen Terrain Database, and entry steps, all as standard equipment.
Optional avionics include the all-digital Aspen Evolution Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD) system, Garmin GTX 330 Transponder with Traffic Avoidance, and GPS-coupled S-TEC 30 Dual Axis Autopilot. An Insight True Flow 500 Fuel Flow Computer, coupled directly to the GPS for live in-flight fuel management, is also available.
“After celebrating the delivery of Serial Number 100 early this year, we are excited to now launch this advanced model and reach yet another milepost in the continued development of the XL2.” said Keith Markley, President and CEO of Liberty Aerospace. “The GWI allows a generous payload of 420 pounds with full fuel, and toe brakes will enable Flight Schools to offer more conformity in their training programs. Our IFR certification, along with additional enhanced avionics, position the XL2 to be the trainer of choice where economy of operation is critical, and a modern aircraft is required.”
Finger brakes, often preferred for their simplicity and ease of maintenance, will still be available as optional equipment.
Two Vanguard Edition XL2s are on display at the Liberty Aerospace stand, one in green and the other in burgundy. (Exhibit # 89 & 90 just outside Hangar D).
