Liberty Aerospace Delivers First Aircraft in Japan
Melbourne, FL (May 1, 2007) -- Liberty Aerospace, Inc. has successfully delivered the first XL2 in Japan. Liberty’s regional representative, Mr. Patrick Carroll, took delivery of the aircraft on April 20. Carroll stated, “The aircraft arrived in the shipping container in pristine condition, and due to the aircraft’s modular design it was reassembled and ready for flight in an incredibly short amount of time.”
The XL2 has a unique wing box mechanism, which allows the wings to be easily removed within a matter of minutes. Without the wings attached, the XL2 has the ability to fit into a standard 20’ shipping container. Liberty’s C.E.O., Mr. Keith Markley, stated “One of our goals is to reach markets around the world. By utilizing the design of the aircraft, we can keep shipping costs low and deliver the XL2 to any port across the globe.”
As the Regional Representative for Liberty Aerospace, Inc., Mr. Carroll plans to focus on flight training markets across Asia to meet the extreme local demand for pilots. Carroll stated, “This will be the first Liberty XL-2 in North Asia. I plan to fly between Japan, South Korea, China, and even down to the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand. Like the rest of the world AVGAS is difficult to get so the exceptionally low fuel consumption of the Liberty makes it ideal for the region.” The Liberty XL2 is noted for low operating costs, namely derived from its FADEC controlled engine. The XL2 has an average fuel burn of just 5 gallons per hour at a cruising speed of 120 knots, making it ideal for any flight training application.
Patrick Carroll has been in Asia for 25 years with Airbus and BAE Systems. Liberty has appointed Carroll to expand developing markets throughout Asia.
